Something Old, Something New..............

The next challenge at Let's Get Shabby is up and it's full of possibilities.
You know the old saying;
Something old,
Something new,
Something borrowed,
Something blue.
Interpret it how you will, it doesn't have to have any thing to do with "weddings"

My "old" is the doll. Her name is Louise, she stands about 3 foot high and she is about 50 years old.
My "new" are the papers from 7Dots Studio.
My "borrowed" is the technique, obviously from Ania Dabrowska and the "blue" is the coloured inks

Ania Dabrowska, what can I say that we don't already know or that hasn't already been said about her amazing talent, her unique techniques and her inspiring creativity ? Well, after doing her workshops I can say that she is also a warm and beautiful person. Her excitement, passion and enthusiasm for her art is infectious, she is so inspiring and she is also a wonderful, wonderful teacher...very clear, very organised, and extremely generous with the sharing of her knowledge, experiences and ideas.Thank you Ania for giving so much of yourself. I also would like to give a big ten out of ten to Rae Cooper from Scrap Matrix for organising the whole thing so perfectly, and so professionally.

I would really love to see what all you talented girls out there could create for this challenge...have a go. Details are here at Lets Get Shabby.
Thanks for dropping by, have great week end everyone. xx

Meg's Garden and CSI........

New papers from Meg's Garden.
A new page created with the beautiful new range of papers from Meg's Garden called the "Forget Me Not Collection". These papers are so soft and pretty and I thought just perfect for a baby page. This is pretty little baby Olivia, born on the 7th. of October 2011.
The wide paper lace is very versatile. I've used it complete and also just as a scolloped edge with the middle cut out. It also accepts mists and inks beautifully.

All the beautiful papers used on this page are from the new range   of Meg's Garden papers called "The Forget Me Not Collection". Also from Meg's Garden is the Wide Paper Lace, the Blue/Grey Organza Ribbon and the Paper Roses.

Case File #20 at CSI this week was so much fun.

The EVIDENCE I've used is: Spirals, Dots, Insects/Bugs, Stitching, White Space, Retro (price tags), Paint Drops I used "splats".
My TESTIMONY is journaling written in a trail and set on top of something ( the swipe of red paint).

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope your week is full of colour and inspiration. xx

A Special Investigator..............

For the month of May I feel very honoured to have been invited to be a "Special Investigator" at CSI. This is the first of 4 pages I will do for this fantastic, fun challenge site.

For my EVIDENCE I have used: flowers, leaves, oversized flowers and bling.
For my TESTIMONY I have journaled about the growth of someone; my youngest daughter and have added a flower to my journaling spot.

Beautiful Manor House Creations flower, misted to blend in with the orange/apricot colour scheme.

I had to include this lovely Prima Vintage Trinket

Some fussy-cut flowers from the gorgeous Glitz design papers, Laced with Grace.

Thanks so much for dropping by today, have a great week, happy creating and save a smile for a stranger. xx

Excited and anxious.......

Just wanted to share a couple of things with you before the week end. I am so excited to be attending Anna Dabrowska's classes in Darwin this Friday and Saturday. I have admired and been inspired by her work for ever, and to be able to do a couple of  classes with her, is for me, just amazing ! I hope I wont be out of my depth...
The thing is tho, that I have to fly from Adelaide to Darwin, which is like the opposite end of this 'wide brown land', and I hate flying ! I do it only to visit my daughter in Melbourne and even then I usually return home by train. Anyway, a friend is coming with me, so I'm sure she will "jolly" me along. We leave at 8a.m. so it's even a little too early to soothe my nerves with some inflight alcohol.........do you think?? Mmm maybe not.

The other thing I'd like to mention is my other blog that I've  just started. It's called "just random bliss". I guess you might wonder why I would want or need two blogs. Well, for me, I find that there are so many beautiful, simple moments, words and images around me that inspire and bring joy that I wanted a place, separate from my creative space, that I could record and remember them. Alright, if I am being completely honest it's also a 'little indulgent place' for me where I can play around with my camera and hopefully with time and practice, my photography skills will improve and I,ll have a record of this journey.
Each post has a single word title, add the word "bliss" to the end of it and that will give you the gist of the post.
If you want  to visit, the button's on the side bar where it says "I'm also here".
Have a great week end every one and create something beautiful. xx
